The Russian community school on the Sunshine Coast (branch of the Romashka school on the Gold Coast) is located in the very center of the Sunshine Coast – in the new cozy North Shore community center with a comfortable and spacious park, close to shops, cafes and the delightful Majimba beach.

The work of our school is based on an individual approach to each child, using communication-oriented materials designed to ensure practical and systematic mastery of the Russian language. Modern methodological techniques will be adapted to the real capabilities of students.

Mathematics. Logics. Thinking.

During the classes, children will learn to solve various kinds of associations, chains, puzzles, leapfrogs, and all kinds of crosswords: scanwords, chainwords, fillwords, diwords, etc. The use of games for the development of verbal and logical thinking actively stimulates the development of cognitive processes – attention, memory, thinking , imagination and speech. Students will learn to solve problems, reason and think logically.

In the early development group, children will be engaged in the development of speech, phonemic hearing, standard pronunciation and fine motor skills, enrichment of vocabulary, learn to sing and play finger games. The program includes musical and creative activities.

Classes in the preparatory class will give your child the opportunity to get acquainted with Russian traditions, develop harmoniously, prepare their hands for writing, learn to read and write in block letters, expand their vocabulary in Russian, and improve monologue and dialogic speech skills.

Russian language classes for grades 1-4 will be devoted to the comprehensive development of students’ speech and teaching Russian grammar. Important components of the classes are: articulatory gymnastics, role-playing games to expand vocabulary and develop the ability to speak competently in Russian, learning poems, developing visual spatial orientation (right-left, seeing the boundaries of cells, lines, etc.), writing printed and capital letters of the Russian alphabet.

Reading and speech development

During the lessons, children get acquainted with textbook examples of Russian folk art and the works of Russian writers and poets. We will help schoolchildren master conscious, fluent and expressive reading, develop an interest in reading and expand their reading horizons

The world

In classes on the surrounding world, schoolchildren will become familiar with natural phenomena, the objective world, the social world, and the peculiarities of the relationship between man and the environment. Class work will consist of practical assignments, conversations, observations, elementary experiments, research activities, problem-game situations, excursions, and quizzes.

Additional clubs are offered for elementary school students: drawing and theater

After lessons and during recess, children can play chess, board games, chat, and play on the playground. Any other circles are possible provided that a minimum group is created.
