Elena Tretyachenko

Elena Tretyachenko is an accredited public school teacher (NSW and QLD) with a Bachelor’s degree in ESL method and a PhD in Cultural Studies. Her work experience includes over 18 years of teaching English and Russian languages in colleges, private and public schools in Russia and Australia, as well as providing workshops on a variety of topics related to teaching methods.
She was born and grew up in Russian where she graduated with honours from Arzamas Pedagogical Institute and began her journey by teaching English Phonetics, English Grammar and Written and Spoken English courses to undergraduate students.
After moving to Sydney, Australia in 2020 she continued teaching General English, EAP (English for Academic Purposes) to international students. Later she furthered her teaching at an Intensive English High School and mainstream Sydney High schools. Since 2020 she has also been teaching Russian at the Secondary College of Languages (NSW) which led her to gain a proficiency accreditation.
Elena is actively engaged in academic aspects of language studies – she speaks at international pedagogical language conferences and conducts methodological master classes for ESL teachers. She has developed teaching and methodological materials for language learners: an e-book “Australian English” accompanied by 44 video tutorials on Youtube, textbook “Teaching English Phonetics to Senior students” and has published 20 articles on cross cultural communication and TESOL issues.
In May 2023 she established and heads the Saturday Russian language school (branch of Romashka language school) to help promote language diversity and support bilingual children in the Sunshine Coast.
Elena currently resides in the QLD Sunshine Coast and raises two bilingual children.
